Cafe Ma Maison Review: Cozy cafe with decadent cakes, coffee & more

Cafe Ma Maison has beautiful desserts which taste just as good as they look

Whenever I'm craving cakes or a good tart and I'm shopping at Orchard District, I immediately think of Cafe Ma Maison. I first chanced upon this cafe in Google when I was searching for desserts last year at Orchard Road.

Cafe Ma Maison offers a variety of Western-inspired Japanese foods, from Katsu Sandos to Cod Roe spaghetti. However, I have only tried the desserts there. Thus, I'll be covering the desserts that stood out the most to me.

Cakes and Tarts

Desserts in the photograph include grape tart and strawberry shortcake.

They were both equally decadent, and colourful for your #pictureperfect Instagram feed. Besides, the plating of desserts were pretty well done!

Grape Tart

The grapes in this tart were really sweet, and the jelly gelled really well within the grapes. The addition of cream on top was the crème de la crème. It was milky and fluffy. Most importantly, I think most people appreciate a good tart base. The base of this was so buttery and delectable! It really completed the dessert for me.

Strawberry Shortcake

4 words: Best strawberry shortcake ever! (Just look at the glistening strawberry in the photo)

Let me start off by saying, the strawberry is not sour. It is hard to find sweet strawberries in Singapore, but Cafe Ma Maison nailed this cake. Sweet strawberries, Hokkaido milk tasting cream, and an oh-so moist vanilla cake base. A must order!

What is a good cafe without drinks?

Coffee and cakes go together. Can you really call yourself an avid cafe goer if you don't order coffee? (or a drink at the very least 😳). Just joking, I got myself a hot chocolate 😂.

Hot Chocolate

This hot chocolate was the right balance of chocolate and milk. The chocolate was the chocolatey and the milk was creamy. Plus, it comes with a butter biscuit which was actually really buttery and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Big Verdict

I'd travel just to have dessert from Cafe Ma Maison.
