Authentic and delicious Italian cuisine for when you want to splurge.

I've always felt like I have not really tried true authentic Italian food in Singapore. A friend of mine recommended me to BaciBaci Restaurant and claimed that the food tasted great. Thus, I made a reservation and headed down.
Getting there
I took a bus to Serangoon Gardens and alighted at the bus stop according to Google's instructions. Google Maps led me to an ulu pandan part of Serangoon Gardens that I have never been to before. Walking at Lichfield Road was really dark and there were not many shops open. However, just keep walking straight and you'll eventually find the restaurant at the end of the road.
The food I ordered
Since my friends and I are #brokecollegestudents, we ordered 1 pizza and 2 pastas. This was enough to satisfy our hunger.

6 Formaggi & Honey
Our choice of pizza, 6 formaggi & honey was delicious. Formaggi means cheese in italian. The 6 cheeses included in this pizza are: mozzerella, parmesan, pecorino, gorgonzola, taleggio and brie. Prior to this, I have only tried mozzerella, parmesan and brie cheese.
I have never tried honey and cheese together, and after trying this pizza, I am bamboozled as to why this combination is not everywhere already. The combination felt like a match made in heaven, as the sweetness balanced out the saltiness of the cheese. However, I felt like the pizza base was not the best I've tried. It is however, passable in my books. Try this if you love cheese!

Linguine alla Pescatora
aka linguine with mixed seafood and tomato sauce base.
This pasta was the best dish out of the 3 that we ordered. The tomato sauce was the right balance of creamy, zesty and savoury. The seafood was also fresh! I especially liked the big fresh prawns and squid. However, the clams and mussels were equally as yummy and it's safe to say that we left no last strand or seafood on the plate.
A must try!

Gnocchi Gorgonzola e Noci
This pasta was extremely cheesy, as gorgonzola is a type of cows milk cheese.
Prior to this, I've never had the opportunity to try gnocchi. I would describe its closest texture as macaroni that doesn't have a hole. As much as I love cheese, I felt that it was too gelak (heavy) to have it on its own. While it did taste okay initially, it got too much for me at the end of the meal. I would not order this again.
Ambience
BaciBaci Restaurant is a perfect place for a date night, or family gathering. It's ambience is cozy and romantic, with dim lighting. The waitresses go out of their way to serve you.
The Verdict
The total bill came up to $111, and while it is a restaurant, it is pricey given that it is in vicinity of a neighbourhood. While I only ordered 3 dishes, I'd say that the linguine alla pescatora was scrumptious enough to make me return to try the other dishes, provided I have the budget for it. I'll be back!
