Dumpling Darlings: Trendy dumpling at Raffles Place

Dumpling Darlings offers dumplings in flavours you've probably never tried before.

Having seen many posts of these mouth-watering dumplings on my #IGfeed, I jumped on the bandwagon and made a reservation for Dumpling Darlings. I was pretty stoked to try the flavour twists, hearing raved reviews.

Initial impressions

Upon entering the store, we were served beansprouts as an appetiser. It was crunchy, tasted like pickles and whet my appetite.

Looking at the menu, my friends and I appreciated the cute cartoons and modern design. We were ready to eat!

Braised Pork Noodles

These noodles had a QQ and chewy texture, with a taste similar to maze soba. The pork also reminded me of the minced meat on bak chor mee. I would totally recommend you to try this. This also came with a hanjuku egg, and the yolk was perfectly golden. While the noodles were not mind-blowing good, I definitely felt that it was a staple dish.

This included a taster of 5 different types of dumplings!

The dumpling flavours include: Fried Pierogi, Momo Curry, Smoked Duck, The Original, Veggie Mandu.

The dumpling which stood out to me the most was fried pierogi. I thoroughly enjoyed the truffle potato and smoked bacon filling. It gelled together really well and it is something I would order when I patron again.

Notable mentions go to momo curry and the original dumpling. The original dumpling tastes like your usual gyoza that you get a ramen shop, and the momo curry felt unique as it contained impossible meat. Since it was my first time trying impossible meat, I had 0 expectations going into it. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it tastes very similar to meat. The curry also masked the fact that it was not meat well.

The Verdict

It's a big yes from me! I tried the other noodle choices from my friend's bowls and I truly felt they were all great. I would visit to get the fried pierogi and try a brand new option of noodles.
